I am looking for info on this med and how it compares in strengthh to other benzos

I want to wean off Lexapro. I'm only taking 10 mg. but I don't feel that I need it anymore since I've had no episodes of depression in the past 12 months. The tablet is scored so I'm assuming I could just cut it in half. What are withdrawal symptoms? I'd like to know what to look for as I wean off it.

Sulpiride at 400 mg made me lethargic and gain a lot of weight, 3 stone or 20kgs. Lower doses made me restless.(Akathesia).At doses below 150-100 mg it actually gave me psychoses.

I was on Methadone for a period of 8 years, and I am only 29 now. I was diagnosed with chronic intractable Migraines along with reacuring crohn's disease. Well the pain doctor put me on Oxycontin first, but was too expensive, so he switched me to Methadone WITHOUT teling me anything about withdrawl when I got ready to get of... I was on 60MG daily 20 morning 20 lunch and 20 bedtime, well I got myself down to 20MG but with a struggle and a lot of help from the man upstairs. Then I got a pill splitter and started taking half a 20MG tab so 10MG's, did than for about a wek, then I split into fourths and took 3 1/4th tabs, nad so on.. I got myself down to 5MG a day and another local pain specialist told me that to get this far had to be HARD work.. He prescribed a bunch of meds, including Klonopin and I had very little withdrawl. I have been cleen from it for going on 6 months now, YEAH... Well thats my story

I've been on this medication for a number of years - is it true this is less likely to cause reduction in libido? At 50, I am concerned about long-lasting effects on my liver. I've tried twice to get along with an antidepressent only to have to return to the doctor within six months. I also use Xanax.

I currently don't have a detailed experience or advice to give on this medication as I have recently started this medication 3 days ago. However I do think that this is a good medication to add to the list and am sure there are plenty of other people who have already had experiences with this particular medication. My doctor switched me from the mood stabilizer Lamictal to Topamax when I started taking birth control. I did research on the internet and found out Lamictal is the only mood stabilizer that has an adverse reaction to oral contraceptives. It basically caused my mood stabilizer to stop working completely. I immediately noticed the change in my mood. As of right now I'm taking 50mg for two weeks and will increase to 100mg thereafter and if needed will increase to higher a dosage. Hopefully I won't need to do that. I have yet to feel any side effects which is good but then again it's only been three days. I'll check back in a couple of days to update the side effects I experience, if any.

I have COPD for 12 years, taking Atrovent for 8 yearsin nebulizer, then switched to Spiriva 4 years ago when it was first introduced, once a day inhalation, Now it has stopped being effective, the wheezing is worse, the shortness of breathm my DR. has instructed to go back to atrovent in nebulizer , I also use fast acting inhaler flovent.Is there something else I could try,My lungs are not happy and neither is my heart Thanks pkc204

Ssris and lorazepam . Hi . My psychiatrist put me on 3 ssri antidepressants and a sleeping pill which he stopped each of them very adruptly at very different times during a 4 month period between april to august of 2006 . The drugs was sertraline , zopiclone , zispin and escitalopram . He has caused a lot of serious severe physical internally , neurological , psychological and emotionally damage by doing this 2 me . I was also on lorazepam as well . Since then they have put me on other different psychiatristic medications which have also been stopped very adruptly as well . Lorazepam has also been started and stopped very adruptly so many times as well . Am still on it now . They want 2 up the dose to 3 times a day now . 1mg per dose . They r killing me with it and what they have done since april 2006 . My family blames me 4 it . I am currently being detained against my will on a section 3 in a mental health unit being completely totally ignored , passed around , denied medical treatment , investigations and referrals for the severe excruicating physical pain that i am always in all the time since it happened by them . They have completely totally destroyed me . Now they are thinking of sending me off to a secure mental healt unit faraway from them and every1 . My current psychiatrist told me that i can stop the lorazepam just like that 2day and be put on diazapam 2mrw which i know that u can't do . I don't know what 2 do . They have completely totally ruined my life , mind , brain , the whole of my body and the 2 lifes of my 2 very innocent young children who is 10 and 2 years old who will not have me their mum in both of their lifes anymore . Any advice ? I am only 39 years old

Geodon Carbamazepine (Tegretol) Lamictal I was diagnosed with Bi Polar Disorder 10 years ago, been up / down on treatment. Finally am at the mercy of the dr. and this is what I'm on..........but I was on paxil CR for number of years helped just fine, now the mental health center doesn't carry it anymore, so dr put me on celexa like 3 a day, don't remember think 20mg/60mg total....then he decides to wean me from celexa and add welbutrin(100mg). (this combination with the above meds listed worked fine with me). After 2 weeks he took me completely off celexa and upped the wellbutrin to 150mg........IM FREAKING OUT, can't stop crying, want to die, extremely aggitated.......so I just took 2 Clonazepam .5mg/1.0 total, within 1 hour i'll be drowsy.........can't function like this am so aggitated and freaking out, about to go check in, never been hospitalized pissed off scared tired (Veronique) There's got to be some combination to help me..xanax and ativan or valium always make me concentrate best, i don't abuse them why wont they listen to me i need paxil CR (have to be CR) Lamictal and geodon and God why can't they give me xanax to help...he tried once before and gave me 1 month supply, when 1 month up, i still had 13 left!!!!!!! All this crap i'm on it's too much i can't take it anymore i'm not gonna commit suicide but i'm damn sick and tired of thinking how worthless i am and want to die.......it's an EPISODE is all am i'm digging my way out of it with the 2 clonazepams....had 3 already today........this totally irritates me to no end i've had it i want off all this crap but i'm scared of the full blown mania and suicide plots

I began taking Aricept about 2 months ago for ADD symptoms; up to 10 mg daily now. My hope is that it will improve my memory and ability to follow instructions in employment situations. Currentlty I'm between jobs though looking for work. As I'm not working at the moment I can't accurately test whether Aricept is truly improving my areas of concern. However, I've noticed a more thoughtful approach to trying to remember appointments, information, etc. Two troublesome side effects so far are insomnia and problematic bowel movements (not exactly diarrhea). The insomnia is so bad I may need to discontinue. Anyone else taking Aricept for ADD/ADHD? If so is it working and how are you coping with side effects?

Tapering off Lorazepam I have been on prescription Lorazepam for 4 months for anxiety, although the first 35 days I only used eleven 0.5 mg pills with days between each one, so I feel that 3 months is a more accurate time on the drug. One month was 1 mg. at bedtime only, & then my Dr. raised dosage to a total daily dose of 2 mg. (taken am, mid-day & bedtime) since Feb 24th, 2009. Is it reasonable to assume that I will be able to taper off the drug at home under a Dr.'s supervision without terrible withdrawal effects if I go very slowly? I am very afraid, but plan to begin a taper in under 2 weeks. Also, are SSRIs were seratonin inhibitors, and do you feel they help or hinder most people if taken while tapering off Lorazepam? I am allergic to the other benzos, so I can't switch to one with a longer 1/2 life to taper from. Is a detox a better alternative to tapering? I hear that's awful to go through too. I don't want to go on an SSRI or SSRE . I am very sensitive to all meds and have almost every side effect. Can I make it through tapering off the Lorazepam 2 mg. ? Do most people make it tapering without awful withdrawals & rebound? Can anything help the symptoms? What can help for sleep? THANK YOU ~ Dibs

Opana is one of the strongest pain relievers (if not it is up there with the top five)

abilify has helped me very much with my paranoia. I can't say I have any concerns with side effects. Right now I am interested in how long it takes until a person who stops taking abilify will starting feeling any withdrawl symptoms.

Darvocet is the only thing I can take to stop a migraine headache. When I feel one coming on, aura, smell of burning wire, nausea, I take 1 and make myself slow down or take a nap and the migraine is gone within an hour. But you HAVE to take the time to slow down if you aren't able to catch a nap.

Old in 2008 i loss Warren & i stop eating i felt like my heart was going to come out of me i went to the ER they safe me by giving me 5 TAB of clonazepam 0.5 mg i now i see some1 & it takes da Anxiety away i feel good i am also on CITALOPRAM 40MG TAB i also take treZODone 50MG TAB But what i believe The Heavenly Father & i ask him 4Help he can hear you. I do hope to get off of da drugs & stay on da herbs everyone should smoke weed and listen to coast to coast

On abilify for bipolar 2 and it works good for energy and motivation and anger - side effects alternate btw tired and wired - constipation. Have to switch to respirdal due to insurance,

I have been on xanax which did not work for me....i was then switched to ativan (lorazapam) .5mg 3x a day....it helped for a while until i became addicted....my panic attacks were worse than ever...i call them rolling panic attacks...one after another all day...my doctor suggested a beta blocker....metoprolol 25mg one a day...its normally used for high blood pressure...at this low dose it usually does not affect b/p..however it instantly stop the panic...kept my heart rate in check stopped palpatations and had a calming affect...plus it is not addictive SCORE! after reading about they use it for actors who have stage fright before going on....something to think about

I was just prescribed this for anxiety-related nausea. I've also heard it is used for morning sickness and nausea from chemotherapy. I have not taken it yet and would love some information on it.

Celexa I have Bipolar disorder..I have a lot of shifts in my mood,no energy,erratic shopping spree's & more..I'm VERY picky about what meds I take due to being sensitive to side effects..My doc tried me on Celexa..It has gave me energy,calmed my moods & my anger,just a better since of well being..This med works good..BUT,it has BAD side effects..Insomnia,grinding my teeth,clinching my jaw,and lost ALL libido,also lose of appetite..These side effects I can deal with because I DIDNT like the person I was before I began Celexa..I def say give this med a try..Just remember what work's for 1 person may not work for other's..Best Wishes to everyone:)

Hi, My name is Matthewj and I am a LORAZEPAM survivor. Can you here me, If you are on this drug you are in Danger!! Make no mistake this is a Dangerous Drug.

I was on this Drug for over five years, and on 12 MG'S a day for 2 of those year.

I have just went Though Withdrawals from this Drug for the last 5 mo's and it was HELL, And that is a UNDERSTATEMENT.

If you are on Lorazepam and have been on it for more than 4 to 6 weeks DO NOT JUST STOP! Doing so can cause all kinds of bad thing to happen to you up to and including seiures or death. You Must come off this Drug slowly, And you are going to need help getting off this poison. I pray you have family who loves you because that is what it is going to take. And you are going to have to find something Inside you that you did not know you had in you. IT WILL TAKE THIS AND MORE to free yourself from this Drug.

There are somethings you should know about this Drug Lorazepam it is also known as ATIVAN, This Is a Psychotrpic Drug (Definiton) a Psychotropic Drug is a Drug that Affects your Mind, The processing of your Mind and your Mood.

The only reason I am telling you these things is because Lorazepam/Ativan took my wife, my home , my job, my life. and I do not want what happened to me to happen to another living soul. If I can just save one person form this Drug and that person can save someone we will have a good start on this EPIDEMIC.

P.S. Something to think about this Drug LORAZEPAM/ATIVAN Are the same Drugs that are given to Mental Ward Patients and when the Patients get out of hand these are the drugs that they shoot that Patient up with to keep them quit. (Just a thought.)

I had issues with my blood pressure December, 2011. During Christmas I was having anxiety attacks and my blood pressure was still high. Went to the ER and the Doc ordered 1 mg of Ativan. This medication made me very sleepy, but it worked. After, visiting my primary doctor, he wrote a prescription for 1 mg of Ativan, after two weeks of taking this medication, I could tell a difference in my breathing, it was causing anxiety attacks. I tried to stop this medication, but continued to take it. I began to PRAY TO GOD, to help me. God heard my cry and it has been 5 DAYS and I have not taken a Ativan. God tell us not to worry in the Book of Matthew 6:25. I believe and trust God for all things. God said we can do ALL things through Christ who give us strength (Philippians 4:13). I continue to go forward in the name of Jesus. I must admit, I have had a severe headache, but after taking 2 advil, it will ease away. Continue to pray my strength and I will do the same for you.
